ONGOING RESEARCH PROJECTS
- UP State Government has selected and funded our Department for
establishing “Viral Diagnostic Laboratory” at GSVM Medical College
Kanpur. In this lab we will perform Real time PCR for Swine flu Covid 19
RT PCR testing and other viral infections. - TB Culture and Drug sensitivity Testing (DST) facilities to first line anti-TB
drugs, namely streptomycin, Isoniazid, Rifmapicin and Ethambutol and LPA
Lab BSL3 Lab is under process for handover to Microbiology Department. - State Reference Laboratory and ICTC is funded by the National Aids
Control Organization Lucknow in Department of Microbiology. As Lab
Direction HIV Testing Laboratory got NABL Accreditation on 20/06/2022
by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. - Under National Programme on AMR Containment our department is FIRST site in U.P. where AntimicrobialResistance Surveillance of priority pathogens in clinical samples running since 2015. Uploading of AST data in WHONET software for submission to Global Antimicrobial Resistance.
